Amazon will be responsible for paying back $70 million dollars to its customers for app purchases made by children between 2011 and 2016. Parents complained that Amazon made it too easy for children to buy virtual items in apps, without their consent. All I can say is WOW. And I’m not sure if the wow is in regard to the $70 million or the fact that their was this much parental oversight and child deception.

This is an important theme in my book, Disconnected, because according to research the average parents spends just 3 1/2 minutes per week in meaningful conversation with their children. Yes, that’s what I said, 3 1/2 minutes per week. Why? Because both parent and child are spending too much time staring at screens.
